We recently welcomed Nick Arrojo to The Cutting Room in Wheat Ridge for an all-day, hands-on razor cutting class. Ten stylists attended, including eight members of our team, for a full day of learning, practicing, and refining our skills.
Throughout the class, we worked through three haircuts: the shag, bob, and bixie. Each gave us a different way to explore shape, movement, and texture with a razor, from the layers of a shag to the shorter silhouette of a bixie.
A big focus of the day was razor handling and control. We practiced how to hold and guide the razor with intention, building confidence in the small movements that influence the finished haircut. Having time to work hands-on with Nick made those lessons especially valuable.
Education That Comes Back to Your Chair
Continuing education is a priority at The Cutting Room. Giving our team opportunities to learn together helps us sharpen our technical skills, exchange ideas, and bring fresh inspiration to our clients.
With eight of our stylists participating, this class also gave us a shared experience we can keep building on in the salon. We left with new techniques to practice and plenty of excitement for razor cutting.
